BOMA/GLA Member Town Hall: Parcel Taxes in Pasadena and Culver City 

Two parcel taxes on the November ballot could add a new annual cost for commercial properties in Pasadena and Culver City. The tax would be based on building square footage, whether space is leased or vacant. 

Pasadena: The proposed fire parcel tax is 19 cents per square foot each year for 14 years. A 500,000-square-foot building would owe about $95,000 a year, or $1.33 million over 14 years. 

Culver City: The proposed school parcel tax is 48 cents per building square foot each year for 10 years, capped at $15,000 per parcel annually. The number of parcels matters when estimating the cost of a property.
